OK. After two hours of trying to get our soundsystem to work and having warm feelings about the person who bought this garbage, we head out for Chinatown to get a proper meal. And a proper meal we did find. The Peking Duck House is confirmed to be the place to get Chinese food in New York. By the time we finished our dessert there was for Jaap and me no energy left to make it to Madison Square Garden, but Geert is unstopable when it comes to live music, so he went on his own. Jaap and I walked back to the hotel and fell in love with New York.
This love was only to grow in the next morning. Lovely sunny weather on the ferry to Staten Island and back helped us to be firm and defy the guards on the ferry, who wanted us to stop filming. After the ferry we had to make one dream come true. The Apple Store on 5th av is a magnet to Apple addicts and I had to drag Jaap and Geert out of the overcrowded shop. Though not before buying that Iphone, Ipod and other gear.I’m sure I could hear my credit card weep when we left the building.
After that is was time to make it to our dinner date with John Blyberg and his family in Trumbull. His wife had made an excellent dinner with an amazing tasting Salmon. It is always special to meet someone in a home environment. John has only recently begun in Darien, but he is full of ideas and a very bright man, so I am sure he will lift the library in the Darien community to a higher level. Can not wait to see him again in Monterey, But first there is New York Public and another inspiring man. Paul Holdengraber.
From what I read he may be one of the highlights of the Shanachietour. Guys let’s put away that bottle and get some sleep. We have to rise with the sun in order to shine some light on the future of libraries. Even Shanachies need to sleep sometimes.

I’m not jealous, NO I’M NOT JEALOUS. Gosh somehow I can not confince myself.
Leave some of the good stuff for me too, please…
But, there is one thing. How many times do you want tot travel the earth? 60.240 kilometers brings you one and a half times if you travel along the equator
Have fun

Well Friends,
