Hi, I'm a MLIS student at Rutgers University. When I read about your road trip on The Shifted Librarian I thought you guys might be interested in knowing that the Rutgers School of Communication, Information and Library Studies is turning 25 this year and having an anniversary celebration with panel talks and lectures Oct. 12 and 13 in New Brunswick, NJ. You can check out what we have planned at . Please stop by if you have the time, no registration is necessary for the talks. You can get to New Brunswick by taking the train from Penn Station. I know the students (and I'm quite sure the professors and alumni) would love to talk to you informally and hear about your trip/documentary/project. You could also of course check out the Alexander Library if you care too. We promise you both a drink if you cross the Hudson to us. Best of luck either way!

Queens Library (or Queens Borough Public Library) serves the most ethnically diverse county in the US, and offers a wide range of programs and services. We were also the highest circulating library in the US this past year. With 63 buildings and 1700 employees, we have a lot to show visitors. Please consider a visit to us on your way across America.
